The ABB Endura AZ20 and AZ25 series are high-quality combustion gas analyzers, primarily used for monitoring oxygen levels. Both models utilize a zirconium oxide cell sensor mounted at the tip of a probe inserted directly into a flue duct or furnace. This design allows for direct, in-situ measurement, providing accurate and rapid oxygen readings crucial for combustion control optimization, process quality control, and emissions monitoring. The in-situ technique eliminates the "equilibrium shift" that can occur when gas samples are extracted and cooled before measurement.
The Endura AZ25 is specifically designed to measure oxygen concentration in high-temperature furnace atmospheres.
Probe Lengths: Available in lengths from 600 to 1250 mm (2 to 4 ft), allowing for optimal sensor positioning.
Remote Transmitter Distance: The remote transmitter can be mounted up to 100 meters (328 ft.) from the probe, providing flexibility for installation in hostile or inaccessible areas.
Reference Air Requirement: Requires reference air at 500 to 1000 ml/min (1 to 2 ft³/hr) for accurate operation, which can be supplied by an ABB mains-powered pump unit or a flow regulator unit.
Sheath Materials: A choice of three sheath materials ensures compatibility with various process conditions:
Aluminous Porcelain: Suitable for temperatures up to 1250 °C (2282 °F), with limited resistance to corrosive chemicals and mechanical/thermal stress.
Recrystallized Alumina: Suitable for temperatures up to 1400 °C (2552 °F), offering resistance to corrosive chemicals and more severe mechanical and thermal stress.
Incoloy 800: Suitable for temperatures up to 850 °C (1562 °F) when mounted horizontally and up to 1000 °C (1832 °F) when mounted vertically, with limited resistance to corrosive chemicals but resistant to mechanical and thermal stress.
Dependable Measurement: Provides reliable oxygen measurement in various processes, offering virtually instantaneous response and resistance to sulphurous reducing atmospheres.
Versatility: Offers a wide range of probe insertion lengths and choice of protective sheath materials to suit different applications and temperatures up to 1400 °C (2552 °F). It also includes an integral thermocouple for automatic temperature compensation.
Low Cost-of-Ownership: Achieved through in-situ measurement (eliminating the need for complex sampling systems), standard automatic calibration functionality, and optional automatic calibration hardware. This minimizes operating costs and technician intervention while optimizing system accuracy.
Advanced Transmitter: Features a user-friendly human-machine interface (HMI) with a large, backlit graphical display and "through-the-glass" control for simplified configuration and operation. It includes advanced diagnostics (NAMUR NE107 compliant), real-time cell performance monitoring, and a performance log. Standard outputs include two relay outputs and an analog output, with options for additional outputs and HART communication for remote access and diagnostics.
